Trained in the most advanced spinal injury treatment techniques, Nasser Ani, MD, FACS, FRCS(C), is a board-certified orthopedic and spine surgeon treating patients at the Orthopaedic and Spine Institute of New Jersey in Hazlet, NJ, and Old Bridge, NJ. Specializing in several surgical procedures, Dr. Ani is committed to patient care and stays informed on the latest treatments and technologies for helping patients overcome spine and orthopedic injuries.

Education & Training 

Dr. Ani completed his education at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. After receiving his medical degree, Dr. Any completed 2 years of surgical residency at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon and 4 years of orthopedic training at McGill University in Montreal. Dr. Ani has received extensive medical training in a number of specialist areas, including a spinal surgery fellowship at McGill University and Lutheran Medical Center in Cleveland.

Dr. Ani is a board-certified orthopedic and spine surgeon and a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Royal College of Surgeons, North American Spine Society, and other prestigious orthopedic and spine societies. Outside the office, Dr. Ani is a dedicated member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery and the American Society of Spine Surgery.

Our Team of Surgeons 

Dr. Shalin Shah, D.O. 

Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Spine Surgeon 

Dr. Shah received a scholarship to Monmouth University after graduating from the Academy of Allied Health and Science. He excelled in Biology with a concentration in Molecular Cell Physiology. He then pursued his Orthopedic Surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center - Pinnacle Health, where he had the opportunity to train with leaders across the country. Dr. Shah completed his Louis A. Goldstein Spine Surgery fellowship at the University of Rochester and received further training in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Adult Spinal Deformity at the San Diego Spine Foundation. 


Passionate about global health outreach and has volunteered overseas, Dr. Shah performs pediatric spinal deformity surgery for free to children in need. He is a member of multiple organizations, including the North American Spine Society and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. 


Dr. Shah believes in patient education and communication. He provides detailed explanations of diagnoses and treatment options, tailored to each patient's needs. While he primarily uses non-surgical care, he may recommend operative intervention if non-surgical measures prove unsuccessful.

Dr. Shah’s Approach 

Dr. Shah believes in educating and communicating with his patients. He wants to make sure they fully understand their diagnosis and all available treatment options. He will make personalized recommendations that take into account the patient's individual needs and preferences. While he prefers non-surgical methods, he may suggest surgery if other treatments have not been successful.
